This is just a fun question.
And no I'm not going mad.

If you could go back in time, to the 22nd Jan 1879. Isandlwana. Would you warn Chelmsford of the inpending diaster. Or would you let the events unfold,in order to put answers to the many un_answered questions we talk about today.

Would Chelmsford listen if you tried to warn him ?

I think you would have to try but i think you would not get very far.

What would your first three burning questions be?
Mine would be.
1. When did Coghill leave the battlefield
2. The mystery of the missing troop.
3. Conversations between Durford and Pulleine.

Interesting topic

Hi Gary

There has been references to a missing troop/company. I think it apeared in Chelmsfords report as well. The basics as far as I understand is that a trrop/company didnt come down of the spur. I would really need to dig deep to find the references.
Maybe one of the guys here would know more detail

I would like to ask him.

1. Why he didn’t fortified Isandlwana. As laid down in his own standing orders.
2. Why did he not put someone in charge with more experience than Pulleine?
3. Why did he not have Gatling Guns crews at Isandlwana.

I would ask Chelmsford to ensure the Regimental Colours when with him when he departed Isandlwana. The rest I would watch to see what really happen.

Hello Mr Greaves ,

1 , yes , good question .

2, who else was there , of course there is the endless debate about who actually was in charge , and in fact is there a choice or does it depend on seniority .
