What do we know about this unit?
All i could deduce is that there were some Swasis in its ranks, they apparently went with the 5th column, and a few of them were wounded around the 20th of February.
Here is a London Gazette report about these casualites:

A local police force comprised of Swazi constables officered by William Frederic Fairlie, formerly of 74th Highlanders, and five other European officers. Raised on the recommendation of Norman Magnus MacLeod, also formerly of 74th Highlanders, Border Agent to the Swazi Kingdom. Initially one hundred constables were recruited with a further one hundred in reserve, over time the number increased.

The unit was involved in patrolling operations and in a number of small skirmishes.

The unit was disbanded in April 1879.

Fairlie and forty of his constables joined Shepstone’s Native Horse. The remaining European officers and some two hundred and seventy constables joined Wood’s Irregulars.
